This week saw 3 international acts (Rodriguez, Roxette and Mumford & Sons) in our beautiful province.
Some of our staff were fortunate enough to see them live…
DJ Splashy (Mark Easthorpe) had the following to say about Roxette:
Wow! not your normal rock ‘n roll concert but a night that inspired us! Marie was unable to stand for the duration of the show due to her being unwell from the after effects of a brain tumor – but hell; she could still belt out those lyrics! The band played some old classics that got everyone in the audience singing along. At the end of the night the whole band took a bow . Marie and Per stayed on stage for a few extra minutes and the whole audience just cheered for them. It was something really special – Marie was crying! That was probably the last time they will be on tour in SA.
Sean Swanson shared his thoughts on the Mumford & Sons concert:
From the time we walked into the venue (Durban Bot Gardens) we were impressed! the organisers made sure there were enough food vendors to cater for everyone’s needs Staff were jacked up and friendly. Everything was well signed posted. And the stage set up/ sound and lighting equipment -just amazing! As for Mumford & Sons, well that just rocked my socks off! Top class performance from a top class band!
