Epworth Mudman

The 2016 Epworth Mudman, held on 6 March at Albert Falls Dam, provided a fun-filled morning out in the country for all family members, regardless of age or athletic ability. Having fun was the easy part but staying clean and cool proved almost impossible. However, despite the scorching heat and the mud, the day was a great success.  There was an increase in entries for the Mudskipper events and the full and half distance events attracted a good cross-section of people.

Epworth’s Mudman, which is part of the popular aQuellé Mudman series, is the school’s biggest fundraiser and also enables the school to donate to a charity of its choice. This year, ten percent of the proceeds will go to CANSA for their mobile clinics.

The event represents much of what Epworth stands for: embracing the outdoors, family, adventure sport, team work, courage and perseverance. It is also a wonderful way to bring the Epworth community together, promoting camaraderie. Special mention must be made to all the parents who rallied together and contributed to the success of the event.
